Representing our 10th contribution to PHotoESPAÑA, LOEWE and LOEWE FOUNDATION present an exhibition at CASA LOEWE Madrid from May 13 to June 22 honouring the indomitable icon of queer culture, Harris Glenn Milstead, better known by his stage name, Divine. Once triumphantly labelled ‘the filthiest person alive’, Milstead was a trailblazing performer whose alter ego was rude, raunchy and outrageous: a joyously self-determined, deeply liberating figure. The exhibition will pay homage to Milstead’s life and artistry as Divine, encompassing a range of photography, illustration and film capturing his most eye-catching moments, whether posing in glamorous photoshoots, performing on-stage, seen in candid backstage scenes or in intimate family snaps.

The voice of a generation
An indefatigable champion of queer rights, Divine still represents an inspirational figure in the LGBTQ+ community and beyond.
