Eye/LOEWE/Nature Spring Summer 2020
The third Eye/LOEWE/Nature collection of technical menswear inspired by the great outdoors has arrived for Spring Summer 2020, heralded by a series of photographs by Gray Sorrenti of British actor Josh O’Connor on an adventure through the misty foothills of Japan’s Mount Fuji. Hiking across ancient bamboo groves and over cedar-lined riverbeds, O’Connor has escaped the chaos of Tokyo’s Shibuya to find solace in the landscapes of Fuji-Hakone National Park.
‘I think Eye/LOEWE/Nature shows how I see the LOEWE man’, says creative director Jonathan Anderson. ‘He is kind of day-to-day, but at the same time wants to experiment. In a weird way there is a conservatism to him, but there is eccentricity inside.’
Playfulness combined with practicality is reflected in the collection with versatile garments in vivid hues and multicolour prints, further marked out by bold appearances of the ‘Eye’ insignia. Accessories include sturdy calfskin hiking boots and bags in durable materials as denim, canvas and a fluffy wool camouflage. All are primed as much for city commutes as they are for hikes in primeval forests.
